Recognised as one of the best restaurants in the North, Holbeck Ghyll’s fine dining experience forms the focal-point of most visits to our country house hotel. Spectacular views coupled with our attention to detail and award-winning food has made a visit to our restaurant a “must” for anyone visiting the Lake District.
The menus, created by our talented head chef William Dimartino, offer inventive and beautifuly presented dishes that showcase the freshest produce and flavours from the local area. The wine list /optional wine flights have been designed to suppliment and enhance the dishes found on our menu.

Our 4-course gourmet menu is served between 6.30pm – 9.30pm every day. On Fridays & Saturdays this menu is also available between 12:00pm – 1:30pm
The tasting menu is 7-courses and demos the best of our head chef’s signature dishes. This menu is served all week for tables reserved between 6.30pm – 8.00pm
What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than enjoying a traditional roast dinner served in our lake view restaurant? This menu is served Sunday only between 12.00pm – 2.00pm.
Enjoy scrumptious cakes, fresh scones, pastries and sandwiches in our lake view lounges our terrace. Afternoon tea is served daily between 12.00pm – 4.30pm.

Hidden within our grounds and gardens sits a delightful pergola served by a private barbecue area and fire pit – perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. Our BBQ area is great for an informal gathering and to have the chance to take in the views and enjoy the Lakeland fresh air.
Will DiMartino is set to celebrate his first anniversary as the head chef at Holbeck Ghyll after introducing a range of menus that have been designed to deliver fantastic tastes and textures using ingredients that are inkeeping with our traditional English Country House.
Will attests his interest in food to his gran, he was inspired by her use of the very best locally sourced ingredients in a relatively simple meal, a traditional Sunday roast. His gran made every effort to find the best produce she could, to cook with, she reckoned that this simple fact made all the difference. This approach to food is something that has stuck with him and to this day it translates throughout his own cooking… like his gran Will makes use of the very best produce available to him.
He’s also been hugely inspired by the amazing produce available to him from across the region, one thing is for certain diners venturing to Holbeck Ghyll are in for a real treat and can expect to enjoy dishes made using great produce, all beautifully cooked by Will…
