Walking Weekend Breaks - as featured in The Sunday Times

Friday 29th March to Sunday 31st March 2013

Our resident mountain guide, Mark Eddy, has been tramping these fells for quite a number of years and his company ‘Mountain Journeys’ has escorted hundreds of groups around the beautiful Lake District.

His skills, experience and knowledge of the local area make our guided walking weekends very popular and this spring, Mark will host what promises to be a fabulous weekend at Holbeck Ghyll, featuring guided walks around the famous Langdale Pikes, Pavey Ark and Stickle Tarn.

The weekend will begin on Friday, March 29. After checking-in to your luxurious room or suite, Mark will meet you in the evening to explain the walk and answer any questions before you take dinner in our Michelin-starred restaurant.

Saturday will start with a substantial Cumbrian Breakfast to prepare you for the day ahead. The package includes the services of Mark, a packed lunch of fine local produce and transportation to and from the Langdale Valley. On your return to the hotel there a couple of hours for you to get ready for dinner and then you will join your fellow walkers for a splendid meal hosted by Mark. After breakfast on the Sunday you can either relax by the fire and read the day's papers, safe in the knowledge that you have conquered some of the most spectacular walking terrain in England, or join Mark once more, for a shorter walk around Troutbeck, aiming to return to the hotel for lunch-time.
